A MUSEUM run by volunteers might have to close more often if new helpers cannot be found.
Organisers at Richmondshire Museum, in Ryder's Wynd, Richmond, will hold a coffee morning to seek more helpers.
Volunteers are asked to give up a couple of hours a week for jobs including maintenance and running reception.
Dwindling numbers were worsened by the serious illness of David Squires, who administered the volunteer rota.
A museum spokesman said: "We have never had to close while David has been looking after the rota and we wish him a speedy recovery."
The coffee morning at the museum is on June 12, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Volunteers can also telephone 01748-825611.
