A SCOUT group has raised £15,000 to revamp its ageing headquarters.
Members of the 1st Thirsk Scout Group plan to repair their hall in Picks Lane, which was built in 1916 as a classroom and taken over by the Scouts in 1968.
The list of work required includes mending the roof, fitting a kitchen, replacing part of the floor and improving the disabled access.
The Scouts launched a fundraising appeal and have just been given the final £458 by the Falcon Masonic Lodge, of Thirsk.
Group Scout leader Alison Pickup said: "The Mason's funding will really help us and we are really pleased to get it. We sent letters to all local businesses and quite a lot of did help us when they knew we were fundraising."
Awards for All has given £10,000 and the York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation Local Network Fund gave £4,296.53.
It is planned to start the repairs next month.
