YOUNG visitors to a museum have been learning about life in Roman Britain.
Roma Antiqua historical re-enactment group gave demonstrations of clothing, weapons and medical equipment from the Roman era, at Durham University's Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology.
A Roman Centurion in full battle dress was also on hand to maintain good order.
It was the first of several family activity days at the museum, on the banks of the River Wear, in Durham City, to entertain youngsters during half-term.
Visitors can take part in a hunt for clues as part of Dr North's Archaeological Detective Agency today, make chain mail tomorrow, and hear stories from down the ages, on Friday.
For details of any of the events, call the museum on 0191-334-1823.
