ENTHUSIASTS for all things prehistoric are being invited to enjoy a date with the dinosaurs.
A Dinosaur Coast Day is being staged in Dalby Forest, near Pickering, North Yorkshire, on Sunday, when the clock will be wound back millions of years.
Television personality David Bellamy will be guest of honour at the event, organised by the Friends of Dalby Forest and supported by the Forestry Commission, the National Trust and the Dinosaur Coast Team.
Children will be able to make fossil casts, go pond-dipping and get their faces painted, while guided walks set out for the pre-historic Bridestones beauty-spot at 11am and around Staindale Lake at 2pm.
People can bring along their own fossils to be identified.
Recreation manager Katie Thorn said: "If you know what to look out for, clues about our prehistoric past are everywhere.
"We'll be telling people of all ages more, and encouraging youngsters to have a go at activities inspired by those far-off dinosaur days."
The event runs between 10.30am and 4pm around the Staindale Lake area, three miles along the forest drive from Low Dalby. For more information contact 01751-460378.
