DR TIM PEARSON

I HAVE been a patient at the Friary Surgery, in Richmond, for 35 years and have had excellent care from all the doctors, including Dr Tim Pearson, the man at the centre of the compulsory retirement issue.

I have the greatest respect for them all and trust them to give the community care and treatment, and to run the practice in a way that benefits us all. The standard of care is above reproach, and was so before Dr Pearson came, and still is now.

We do not own our doctors and in my opinion we do not have the right to comment on the way the practice is run or the decisions that are made.

Yes, it is admirable that people have written in praise of Dr Pearson, but to demonstrate outside the surgery, I'm sure, would only cause acute embarrassment to a private family man, who I am sure is more than capable of pursuing his grievance in his own way. Please, protestors, have respect for this man's dignity. - Ella Devlin, Richmond.
