TWO glider pilots were still in hospital last night after they crashed in separate incidents in the same area less than two hours apart.
It is thought the men were members of the Dales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club.
The hang glider, a man in his 30s, had been taking part in a league event when he hit overhead power lines and crashed into a field at Howgate Edge, Hawes, in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, at 1.45pm on Saturday.
He suffered a broken femur and was taken to hospital in Lancashire.
A 3.15pm, a paraglider in his 50s from West Yorkshire, crashed at Wether Fell. He suffered a broken pelvis and was taken to The James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
Fire crews and the Yorkshire and Great North Air Ambulance were called out.
Club's secretary Peter Logan said both men were still in hospital.
Neither has been named.
