A RECENT quiz raised more than £400 for charity.
About 50 people took part in a team quiz held in Thirsk's Masonic Hall in aid of the Hambleton Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). It was hosted by Soroptimists International Thirsk and District.
CAB manager, Jean Wooler, said: "Many people think that CABs are funded by the Government but in fact we are very dependent upon local contributions. As a Soroptimist I am so grateful to my fellow club members for working to raise money and also to the Freemasons for allowing us to use their hall.
"In particular, I want to thank Susan and Graham Lingard who first thought of arranging a small quiz and then developed it into such a success."
