YOUNG sportsmen have been crowned area champions in the Richmond and Catterick schools football tournament.
Richmond Methodist Primary School's boys' years three and four team won its three league matches against Richmond CE School (1-0), Wavell (3-0) and Hipswell (4-0).
The youngsters then beat Brompton-on-Swale 1-0 in the semi-final, before winning in the final against St Mary's RC School 2-0.
The team was made up of Daniel Raine, Marcus Jackson, Sam Wild, Jacob Morton, Arran Humphries, Lewis Cocks, Thomas Cookson and Cameron Edgar.
