POLICE want to trace a 'good Samaritan' who came to the aid of a woman after she was attacked in a town centre.
The 25-year-old victim was assaulted by a man in Victoria Road, Richmond, at 12.30am yesterday.
Another man came to her assistance and intervened, but left the scene before police arrived.
The woman was treated by a doctor for bruising and grazes to her neck, arms and legs.
After a search, police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the incident and he was released on police bail for further investigations.
The man who helped the woman was aged 23 to 25, about 5ft 6in, stocky and wearing a light-coloured jacket and carrying a bag. Police say he may be able to help the investigation.
Anyone who knows him is asked to contact police on 0845-60-60-247.
