A VISUAL therapy unit has pride of place in the X-ray department at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton - thanks to the Wensleydale Ladies' Circle.
The unit, featuring a 3D nature scene, adorns the wall in the mammography room and is designed to reduce patient stress and anxiety and create a more tranquil atmosphere for patients and staff.
The ladies raised the money at last year's Dales Festival of Food and Drink held at Leyburn. They took turns serving coffee, tea and fruit cake with Wensleydale cheese over the three days of the festival.
Funds raised also supported the region's two air ambulances and numerous local projects.
Clinical manager for radiology Janet Townend said: "We are very grateful for the new unit and would like to thank the ladies for their support and efforts on our behalf.
"I am sure patients who visit the department for their treatment will enjoy looking at the scene, which is very picturesque and will help to take their minds off being in hospital."
