CHILDREN in their second year of primary school have been promoting healthy eating.
Gerry Storey, store manager at Sainsbury's, in Durham, asked pupils at Finchale Primary School, in Newton Hall, Durham, to design fruit platters.
Mr Storey said: "Children need a healthy diet and making food fun is one way to achieve this."
The winning pupils Amy Copping, Thomas Davies, Tyler Peace, Jade Gadd, Alex Craig and Phoebe Hughes had their design created and presented to them yesterday.
Finchale headteacher, Lynda Carr said: "I am delighted to work with Sainsbury's in this. The children get a lot out of it."
Finchale Primary School recently won the Healthy Schools Award for promoting healthy eating among their pupils.
