DOZENS of youngsters have been enjoying a scaled down version of Middlesbrough's shipbuilding heritage.
Yesterday, primary schools launched solar-powered model boats they have made for a race on Albert Park lake, in an event organised by Middlesbrough Environment City.
Eleven schools, who are all signed up to the Eco Schools Programme, were given a kit containing a solar panel, motor and propeller to use as the basis for their designs.
The programme aims to encourage youngsters to think about the environmental performance of their schools.
