YORK'S Dean Smith enjoyed a sensational week on the carp circuit.
The Garbolino Elton regular won both Woodland's Opens on Wednesday with 97.6.0 and then on Saturday bagging a super haul of 114.12.0.
Looking for a change of venue Dean decided to fish Sunday's York & District AA match at their impressive Leybourne fishery and made for a perfect hat-trick.
Drawn on peg eight on Marley Lake, Dean worked the pole at 14 metres to the island fishing pellet just a foot deep and tempted carp to 8.0.0 on his way to 75.8.0.
Best of the rest Paul Burton of Anglers World returned 53.10.0 off peg 39.
The Richmond AS match at Crakehall's Burtree Lake produced some good nets and local rod Graham Hutchinson weighed in 25.7.0.
Four quality carp up to 8.0.0 made up the bulk of his catch falling to the long pole approach with cat meat and bread. While on the inside line small roach and crucian carp supplemented his winning net to leave Bert Hartley comfortably adrift on 18.8.0.
Round 10 of the Bob Co Spring Series at Carpvale went to Ripon's Cliff Lofthouse. Pole fishing meat off peg 8 on Cyprio Lake, he put together 76.10.0 of carp to beat Harrogate's John Brain on a level 61.0.0.
Bradford No1's annual match on Raskelf Lake near Easingwold the Pauling Cup proved a disappointment. Despite midweek catches of over 100 pounds Andrew Head found 9.10.0 more than enough to lift the trophy.
On peg 34 on the middle of the railway bank feeder and corn brought three tench and a bream from John Nuttall 6.2.0.
Fish were also hard to locate during the Darlington Brown Trout Lartington Charity event split between Lane Fox and Willowgarth ponds.
The winner came from Lane Fox when Darlington's Ian Duncan broke double figures thanks to a super common carp of 10.9.0.
Ledgering corn off peg 23 Ian added a single bream to boost his final score to 12.4.0 from Peter Nicholson 6.8.0.
Saturday's attendance at the Oaks Sessay was badly affected by the FA Cup Final and both outcomes were tight.
Fished on Cedar Lake 10.0.0 separated the leading six with the top two on nearby pegs decided by just one fish.
Tackle Box Kippax's Lee Harrison has certainly got the measure of this venue bagging 65.15.0 from peg 64. This time around Lee located all carp to 3.0.0 caught on meat over particles cupped in at 14 metres.
Tony Hopkins replied with 64.0.0 on the next but one peg 62 and not surprisingly the Garbolino Ossett angler adopted the same bait and pole line to push all the way to the whistle.
Sunday Oaks - Cedar Lake (71 pegs): 1 K Axford (Aycliffe Angling) 53.6.0; 2 A Richards (Garbolino Elton) 53.4.0; 3 C Routledge (Oaks) 51.0.0.
