LETTERS have been delivered to homes in Hartlepool to stop irresponsible dog owners.
The letters urge people to clean up after their dogs or report dog fouling that they witness.
The initiative is part of Spring Clean Hartlepool. Environment co-ordinator Helen Beaman said: "We acknowledge that many dog owners are responsible, but there is also a significant number who allow their pets to foul footpaths.
Report incidents of dog fouling by calling 01429-523333.
