A TOWN'S renaissance is continuing with plans to transform a "Cinderella" neighbourhood.
More than 300 decaying terraced homes are to be demolished in two town centre sites, in Hartlepool, and replaced with one, two, and three bedroom family houses.
Demolition should be completed towards the end of year with the first new homes available to buy next spring.
Angus Street will be the first street in the town to be demolished as part of a resident-led plan.
Alex Ross, project manager of Hartlepool Revival, the community company overseeing the project, said the redevelopment was an important milestone.
He said: "We are working with partners to make a positive difference across the area while putting the wishes of residents into practice."
Steve Jackson, of builders Yuill Homes, said: "The scheme is yet another example of the renaissance of our home town."
