THE Mad Hatter's tea party, from Lewis Carroll's classic children's tale, Alice in Wonderland, will be recreated at a 17th century country house.
Kiplin Hall, at Scorton, near Richmond, hosts the half term event on Friday, June 1, when youngsters can make a "mad hat", decorate a dormouse teapot, enjoy story time and play games in the garden. Alice joins the party between 11am and 1pm.
Visitors are invited to wear a hat or dress up as a character from the book for the tea party, which runs from 11am to 4pm.
Admission is £3 and booking is not required. Families can take along a picnic to eat in the garden and children must be accompanied by an adult.
