A CHARITY has teamed up with Oates Garage, in Willington, to auction a new car on eBay's charity site.
The County Durham Foundation aims to improve life for people in County Durham and Darlington.
It is calling for businesses to raise funds by donating items for auction.
The garage responded by offering the car. Its full sale price will go to the charity.
Michael Oates, the managing director of the garage, said: "I was happy to help a good local cause. It is a fresh idea and I hope the car sells well on the site. If the bidding is successful, I will donate again in the future."
The Nissan Micra Spirita is at a starting price of £7,495, with bidding closing on Wednesday.
People can also bid for a signed Darlington FC shirt, two passes to Sedgefield Racecourse and more.
