ARMED police have made five arrests on Teesside.
Five men were detained during an operation in Middlesbrough town centre on Wednesday evening, Cleveland Police revealed today.
Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Braithwaite, who ordered the swoop, today declined to comment further, saying enquiries were ongoing.
The five are currently being held at "a local police station'' where they are said to be helping police with their inquiries.
The arrests are not being linked to terrorism.
