A NEW mayor has been elected for Ferryhill Town Council.
Councillor Ken Campbell was handed his chain of office last week from his predecessor, Coun Ron Greenwell.
Mr Campbell, originally from Chilton, has been a resident of Ferryhill for more than 30 years and it is the second time he has been mayor.
He plans to hold events that include a charity dinner in January and a charity service at St Luke's Church.
He said: "I am looking forward to representing the people of Ferryhill throughout this year."
