A CHARITY has raised more than £500 with a street collection.
Volunteers and staff from the County Durham Society for the Blind and Partially Sighted held the collection in Durham Market Place, on May 17, raising £575.23.
Volunteer co-ordinator Charlotte Moore said: "This collection was successful in regard to both collecting money and raising awareness of the services the society provides."
The society's services include a resource centre, home visiting scheme, talking newspapers and a driver escort service.
