A VAN driver has been charged with four counts of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash that killed several members of the same family on the A1.
The 22-year-old will appear before magistrates in Northallerton, North Yorkshire on Wednesday, May 30.
Four members of the family died in the crash near Kirkby Fleetham on March 3.
Paula Gilbert, 29, her fiance, Neil Jex, 37, and her sons Tristan, three and seven-month-old Kaiden all died when their car, a Citroen Saxo, collided with a Transit van.
Ms Gilbert's other son, Macauley, eight, survived, but suffered two broken legs and a broken wrist.
The family, of Hebburn, South Tyneside, had been travelling to Lancashire to visit relatives.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "A 22-year-old man has been charged with four counts of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed to appear before Northallerton Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 30."
