A CRASH between three vehicles has hospitalised one man and closed a Darlington road.
The accident involved two vans and a car at the Whessoe Road mini-roundabout near South Street railway bridge and North Road industrial estate, leading to McDonald's and Morrisons.
A stretch of Whessoe Road was closed from 10.30am this morning (December 22) while police and paramedics attended the scene.
Traffic was diverted during the operation to recover the three stricken vehicles.
A Durham Police spokeswoman said: "It happened at around 10.30am this morning at the mini-roundabout next to Whessoe Road bridge.
"The accident was between three vehicles and involved two vans and a car and one man has been taken to hospital.
"We don't know the nature of his injuries at this time.
"The road was opened again at around 1.30pm."
