A BANK has helped a charity fighting breast cancer by doubling the money raised by a senior employee.
David Slane, of Barclays' North-East local business team, ran a prize draw and tombola at a ball in Durham for the Breast Cancer Campaign charity, raising £750, which the bank matched.
Mr Slane, the bank's regional business director, said: "At Barclays, we strive to strengthen local communities in which we live and work by supporting a range of causes.
"This is a fantastic example of Barclays staff fundraising with the local community to achieve something which we hope will make a real and lasting difference."
Elizabeth Cook, from the charity, said the donation was appreciated and would help it to continue researching a cure.
