A £200 DONATION has been made towards an eye scanner.
The committee of Richmond Meet, which is held this weekend, presented a cheque to Sheila Russell, who is leading an appeal to provide the equipment for Darlington Memorial Hospital.
The scanner would assess eye accidents and illnesses and help to save the sight in damaged eyes.
Mrs Russell, who lives in Richmond, had asked the Meet committee for help.
Lyn Glover, Meet president, said: "Many of the residents of Richmond and the dales go to Darlington Memorial Hospital. The committee felt that donating £200 was money well spent if it will benefit the people of the dales area."
