THE funeral has taken place of a retired Army officer who helped thousands of cadets during his career.
The service for Lieutenant Colonel Chris Jarvis, of Eryholme, near Darlington, took place yesterday at St Mary's Church, in Eryholme.
Until his retirement last year, Lt Col Jarvis, 65, organised the funding, staffing and activities for the 8,000 Army cadets in the North-East and Yorkshire. He leaves a widow, Hazel, three children and two stepchildren.
