STUDENTS at Durham University have been casting a critical eye over posters designed by their peers.
Students from the university's St Cuthbert's Society had the chance to critique work produced by students in a culture and society course.
The posters, which were on display in the college dining hall on Friday, focus on the themes of sport and the media, moral panics, the nighttime economy and the countryside.
Professor Roy Boyne, who taught the course and is principal of St Cuthbert's Society, said: "The posters are meant to be a piece of communication. The students produce them rather than sitting an exam.
"About 15 work together on the project, in four two-hour seminars. They're a bit worried that it's not an essay or an exam, but it encourages teamwork.
"I'm very pleased with the students' response."
