A NEW chairman has taken over the reins at Hambleton District Council.
Councillor Margaret Skilbeck will be civic leader of the authority for the coming year.
She has been a district councillor since 1995 representing the Broughton and Greenhow ward. She will be accompanied by her husband, Peter, during her year of office.
"I feel very honoured to have been asked to be the new chairman and am looking forward to the next 12 months representing the council," she said.
Coun Skilbeck thanked outgoing chairman, Coun Susan Latter, for her hard work and commitment to the authority.
Coun David Murkett, ward member for Sowerby, was made vice-chairman.
