There is a remarkable early season look to the table.
With only three games gone Burnmoor and Whitburn are out in front with a yawning gap of 29 points separating the pair and third-placed Boldon.
The two leading teams have pummelled opponents to reap rich returns from their matches.
And they both posted adventurous wins last weekend to beat the weather when others were kicking their heels in frustration.
It is, however, likely that Whitburn will be seriously tested today when Hetton Lyons visit. Lyons were one of those teams who lost out badly last week when they were rained off.
Whitburn have an unchanged team and Lyons will be at full strength as fast bowler Mark Ewert and spinner Ian Male are available again.
Burnmoor travel to Felling in confident mood after three victories to date that could modestly be described as comprehensive.
They are at full strength for this encounter with Neil Young back from holiday. Felling's only defeat came at Whitburn last week, but it was a heavy one and they will need to be in more resilient mood if they are to dent Burnmoor's charge.
Boldon moved into third following their win at Marsden last week. They entertain Horden today and have Coin replacing the unavailable Johnson. The visitors are unchanged as they still await the arrival of overseas star Imran Jan and the return from injury of Adrian Hedley.
Seaham Harbour need points to try and claw their way up the table and are heartened by the fact that they may have Simon Brown back after illness. He could slot into the place vacated by Adam Young who is working. Visitors today are fourth-placed Philadelphia who have Andrew Robinson in the team following his outstanding form in a couple of recent cup ties.
Durham City will be hoping the impressive form they demonstrated in the Armbrister Trophy last week will be carried over into their home match with Marsden although they will be missing a couple of players. Marsden draft in youngster Mickey Quinn who has been scoring plenty of runs for their juniors, and he replaces Jeremy McKinnon.
Eppleton face South Hetton with both teams desperate to pick up a decent points return to edge them up the table. South Hetton bring in youngster Calum Pringle with Napier also available again .
