The rain-blighted programme of last weekend saw only one game reach a conclusion, with the result seeing the winning side take over the leadership.
Seaham Park extracted full advantage when they crushed Peterlee in quick time to defy the elements and move into a one-point lead.
They take on a struggling Washington side today looking for nothing less than a win to reinforce their leadership credentials.
Park will be at full-strength as skipper Michael McNicholas, married a fortnight ago, is back from honeymoon.
Easington had the good fortune not to have a game last weekend so they weren't overly worried when a number of teams lost out because of the weather. They are now the only team with a one hundred per cent record, and lie in second place with a vital game in hand.
This week they name an unchanged side from the one that last played a fortnight ago when they take on a Dawdon team who have three draws to their credit so far. Dawdon were happy enough with the weather last week given that they had a seriously depleted team out because of a stag weekend. They are back to full-strength for this key match.
Castle Eden and Ryhope meet in a game that may give a clear pointer as to who the likely title challengers will be. They both sit in mid table but are only a few points behind the leaders and a win for either will cement their position in the top half of the table.
Murton retain a game in hand on most and will possibly prove too strong for visitors Silksworth as they have the luxury of naming an unchanged and full-strength side.
Third-placed Bill Quay entertain a Peterlee team who have had a desperate start to their season with only two points from their first three matches.
Boldon CA lie equal third before the start of play but will be resigned to moving downwards in the league as they take their turn to sit the programme out. They do, however, have the return of Karl Bellerby to look forward to in future weeks as he has decided to come back to Boldon after a spell with Philadelphia in the Durham Senior League.
