Hundreds of youngsters will be taking to the woods for the second National Den Building Day later this month.
Dalby Forest, near Pickering, on the North York Moors, will be hosting the day, on May 28.
The rustic DIY jamboree was originally devised to get youngpeople out into the fresh air, enjoying a bit of old-fashioned adventure.
But it has quickly become one of the 8,600-acre wood's most popular events.
Four sessions are being staged, at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 4pm, to keep up with demand.
"There's lots of research showing that outdoor adventure helps children develop and keeps them healthy," said ranger Mark Barker, whose own interest in bushcraft developed while serving in the Armed forces.
"The bottom line is that den building is massive fun. If anything, parents are even more enthusiastic. Adventure play is a big part of our Active Woods health-push this year."
Youngsters will be shown how to create a woodland des res out of branches, twigs and brush.
The proof of their abilities will be a watering can test, to find out whether the shelters come up to all-weather standards.
Places cost £5, or £15 for a family of four. Booking is required on 01751-472771. The event is aimed at youngsters between seven and 16. Younger children may need to be accompanied.
