A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy has helped raise more than £1,000 for charity by taking part in a sponsored walk.
Oliver Coatsworth raised £1,189 for Autism Research by joining a sponsored walk in the Alnwick Garden.
Oliver, from Neville's Cross, in Durham City, was diagnosed with autism when he was four.
His mother, Philippa, said: "We are passionate about fundraising. No one knows what causes this disorder, and without understanding the reasons behind autism, treatment or any kind of intervention remains very far off.
"Oliver did brilliantly, walking a couple of miles."
Families from all over the North-East joined the fundraising, walking between two and five miles.
