A reward is being offered to help track down a hit-and-run driver who killed a pensioner.
A total of £1,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the motorist who caused the death of 75-year-old Bill Hendry.
Mr Hendry was struck by a car or a van as he crossed Stockwell Lane, in Knaresborough, on February 26. He died in hospital the same day.
Despite a major investigation, the driver has not been traced and Crimestoppers hope the reward will help bring him to justice.
Detective Inspector Dave Horne said: "The media have been magnificent in circulating appeals from ourselves and from Mr Hendry's family.
"Again and again, we have appealed to the driver's conscience, begging him or her to end the pain and uncertainty Mr Hendry's family are undergoing, pleading for that person to just do the decent thing and come forward.
"Now we are looking for someone else who shares the driver's secret, someone who wants to put an end to all the fear and stress, someone who thinks that justice and decency are more important than allegiance to a friend.
"Or maybe someone who thinks £1,000 is a fair reward for helping bring to justice someone who should have come forward of their own volition."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
