A "DEPRESSED'' man was found alive and well in remote moorland today following a massive combined air and ground search.
Between 50 and 60 people combed a ten to 15 square mile section of the North Yorkshire Moors for the missing 26-year-old, as an RAF Sea King helicopter quartered the ground from the sky above, its crew using a thermal imaging camera.
Volunteers from the Cleveland Search and Rescue Team were joined by an RAF search team and a member of the Search and Rescue Dog Association.
The three hour search ended in the early hours today with the man, whose details have not been released, being found in the Sheepwash car park, above Swainby, North Yorkshire.
Police officers took the man into their care.
