TWO school sports teams have plenty to cheer about after top class performances in league and cup competitions.
Year 8 netball and football teams at Spennymoor School are celebrating a record year.
The football team won the under-13 Bishop Auckland schools league, the league cup and county cup.
Five members of the squad play for the Bishop Auckland schools district team, and the school said some have the potential to become professional footballers.
PE teacher and football team manager Russell Braithwaite said: "They have done incredibly well, their year group is rich with talent and full of potential.
"But more than that, they have worked hard, shown lots of character and had lots of support from parents and school staff which has made a great difference."
Female classmates also have plenty to cheer about after the netball team was unbeaten for two seasons.
They won the south-west Durham schools netball league and the league cup.
