A THIRSK firm has risen to a challenge to help raise funds for victims of disasters.
Four members of the GSM Graphic Arts team, in Thirsk, underwent the gruelling two-day Shelterbox Challenge.
Technical manager Andy Goddard, sales manager Phil Deller, operations manager Pete Young and general manager Rudy Pearce endured a 30-mile trek across the rivers and woodland of Dartmoor National Park carrying a shelterbox.
They had to reach the finish line carrying the box of survival equipment for disaster areas.
Mr Pearce said: "They don't call it a challenge for nothing. We would all class ourselves as active people, but it really was tough.
"Having said that, the obstacles we faced pale into insignificance when you think about those faced by the people the Shelterbox Trust helps."
The challenge is run by the Rotary Club and helps raise funds to help the victims of disasters.
The teams had to raise £1,000 to enter. This covers the cost of two shelterboxes.
