CUSTOMERS and businesses have been warned to be on their guard following attempts to gain credit card details from two flower shops in the county.
The appeal has been made after the two shops received phone calls from a person who claimed to be from the police. They asked for customers' credit card details.
The calls were so convincing that one stores passed on details, and attempts were made to take money from accounts, police said.
Police are urging people to be cautious and to report any similar incidents to Durham Police on 0845-6060-365.
