VILLAGERS in Teesdale have signed up to be part of a new community radio station which will be launched this summer.
Members of Radio Teesdale dropped in to Staindrop's Scarth Hall to recruit volunteers and get programme ideas from locals.
There were competitions and music, food and local interest stands, behind the scenes demonstrations and people were able to sign up for a training course on radio production.
"We were overwhelmed with the support we had from people at Staindrop," said Radio Teesdale station manager Peter Dixon.
"It shows that the people of Teesdale are really excited about the launch and are keen to ensure the radio station really reflects the local community. We would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to make the event such a success."
Radio Teesdale will be hosting a similar event tomorrow evening from 7pm to 8pm at Middleton in Teesdale Village Hall.
