VOLUNTEERS who look after a 17th Century house have exercised their green fingers by growing plants for a fundraising event.
The Friends of Kiplin Hall, at Scorton, near Richmond, will hold a plant and book fair in the walled garden on Sunday, May 20, from 1pm to 5pm.
Local nurseries and garden centres will have stalls, while other horticultural businesses have donated items for sale and Friends have grown their own. Second-hand books will also be on sale.
Proceeds of the day go towards conserving the paintings and furniture of the Jacobean hall.
Admission to the sale is £1 for adults and free for children, with normal admission prices to the hall of £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for concessions, £2.50 for children and £12.75 for families.
