COUNCILLORS will be given an update on a youth policy being developed by police in the county.
Community safety officer Inspector Stuart Mackleson will address councillors at County Hall on Tuesday.
Police have a duty to co-operate with councils and other partners to meet five key requirements for every child and young person. There is also a duty to promote their safety and welfare.
Committee members will be told that the main aim of the policy is to reduce crime, disorder and substance abuse by children and young people in a way that supports them and rehabilitates offenders back into society.
