HUNDREDS of teddy bears and soft toys will parachute in to Guisborough Town Fair to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance service.
The Air Ambulance Teddy Bears, complete with Biggles goggles, helmet and flying jacket, will be on sale throughout the day.
People can also bring their own soft toy, with a minimum of £5 sponsorship, to make the daring parachute jump from the roof of Gisborough Hall Hotel.
"First aiders will be on hand with elastoplasts to help any bears that land badly, and a life-saving team will be on stand-by to rescue any who land in the Hotel's Victorian fountain," said Peter Etwell, president of the Rotary Club of Guisborough.
Last year, the sponsored jumps made by the soft toys raised more than £650 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service. The club topped up the sum to make a donation of £1,000.
"We invite everyone to persuade their favourite teddy bear or soft toy to support the air ambulance, and to gather in as much sponsorship as they can from family and friends," said Mr Etwell.
Entries will be taken at the fair throughout the day.
The Town Fair will be held on Sunday, June 10, from noon to 4pm at Gisborough Hall Hotel.
