A MAJOR new film of the Evelyn Waugh novel Brideshead Revisited is to be filmed at the same location as the classic television version.
Castle Howard, near Malton, has confirmed the cameras will start rolling there in June.
The huge stately home was the location for the lavish Granada TV version of the book, which made stars of Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews and also starred such great names as Laurence Olivier.
The new production, being made by Ecosse Films will feature Ben Whishaw as Sebastian Flyte, Matthew Goode as Charles Ryder, Hayley Atwell as Julia Flyte, with Michael Gambon and Emma Thompson as Lord and Lady Marchmain.
It will be released in this country by Buena Vista International.
