PEOPLE are being invited to give their views on the future of libraries over the next four years at a series of meetings in east Cleveland.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's libraries services officer, Ian Wilson, said: "The network of public libraries in England is a unique resource, which reaches into every community in the country.
"Libraries are places where children learn to love books and reading, where people of all ages have access to the knowledge and information they need to enrich their lives and the world. But are people getting the library service they need and want?"
He said through consultation on a Blueprint for Excellence, the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council aimed to set out a universal understanding of the modern public library and the services the public can expect.
The meetings will be held between 4pm and 6pm, at branch libraries, starting next Tuesday, at Saltburn, Wednesday, May 16, at Skelton, Monday, May 21, at Redcar Central and Wednesday, May 23, at Grangetown.
