ANOTHER successful May Fair came to an end in Northallerton yesterday.
The fair opened on the evening of April 27 and finished at midnight last night.
More than a dozen rides filled the high street, together with children's attractions, sideshows, games, and food stalls.
The Northern Section of the Showmen's Guild, which organised the fair, provided the rides, including the debut in the town of the Top Buzz - a spectacular ride that spins people through 360 degrees more than 20m in the air.
The high street between Zetland Street and the Buck Inn was closed to traffic during the setting up of the fair and during its operating hours.
Town councillor Tony Hall said: "I have been a long time living in Northallerton and the fair has been a real steady influence and has been enjoyed by all generations for as long as I can remember.
"I'm really pleased that Northallerton has the fair every year.
"It has not always been in the high street. It has been in the Applegarth too, but it is most successful when it is in the high street, which is closed so the people can enjoy the attractions. I'm a big supporter of it and I'm really pleased that we have got it."
