POLICE divers searching for a man who plunged from the top of a North-East waterfall have recovered a body.
The missing man, believed to be in his 30s and from the Jarrow area, fell from from the top of High Force at Forest-in-Teesdale, County Durham, at about 6pm yesterday.
It is believed that the man slipped on the rocks above the fall, the largest in England, possibly hitting his head as he fell.
More than 30 members of the emergency services spent the evening searching for the man, but without success.
The search resumed at 8am this morning and the beauty spot was sealed off to the public. It is understood members of the man's family were at the site as the search continued.
