TWO talented young sports players at Bedale High School have won cups dedicated to the memory of a former pupil killed in a road accident.
Richard Blanchard, who died at Middleham on Good Friday in 1997, was a talented rugby and basketball player, and two trophies in his name have been awarded to present pupils in recognition of their own achievements in the sports.
Jason Simmons has represented the Hambleton and Richmondshire area, North Yorkshire and Yorkshire at rugby, and Joe Cunningham has represented the Hambleton and Richmondshire area at basketball.
