HOTEL staff took to the water to raise more than £1,000 for charity.
Hetton Lyons Country Park, at Hetton-le-Hole staged its first Dragon Boat Race at the weekend, organised by North East Rotary.
A team of 20 paddlers and a drummer from the Sunderland Marriott Hotel took part over the 250-metre course to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.
Team captain Charlotte Harms said: “We’re so pleased to have been able to meet our target.
“The dragon boat race was such a fun experience but also a challenging one and I think we worked really well as a team during the event”.
Hotel general manager Andrew Glover said: “The Teenage Cancer Trust is a fantastic charity that does some amazing work for young people suffering from cancer, so we are pleased to have been able to do our part.”
