AN investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire which destroyed a barn on a Teesside farm.
Fire crews were called at 11am on Wednesday to tackle the blaze at Three Gates Farm, Stillington, near Stockton, to ensure the fire does not reignite.
Firefighters spent almost 24 hours tackling the blaze as crews from Stockton, Thornaby, Redcar, Grangetown and Hartlepool were on site.
One appliance remains at the farm to ensure the embers don't reignite.
A Cleveland Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: "The remains of the fire is still smouldering so one fire appliance from Stockton will remain on site to ensure it stays that way. An investigation has been launched into the cause."
Cleveland Police also attended the incident, and the A177 into Stillington was closed from around 1pm to allow emergency service vehicles access to the site.
