POLICE last night named a 30-year-old woman who died when a Ford Ka left the road and hit a telegraph pole.
Stacey Sandra Marie Callaghan from Ormesby, near Middlesbrough, died in the early hours of Sunday June 7 when the car left the B1264 road leading from the Toll Bar Garage at Entercommon to Low Worsall, near Hornby, between Northallerton and Darlington. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have arrested a man in his 30's in connection with the collision. He is currently being questioned in custody.
Ms Callaghan’s family released a photograph of her but have asked for privacy to allow them to grieve.
Investigators have renewed appeals for information about the collision and asked that anyone who has not come forward and who can help them in any way to contact investigating officers.
The silver Ka left the road at the junction with an unclassified road that leads to Girsby and Over Dinsdale at 3.45am on Sunday.
A man, aged 39, who was also in the car, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
