QUESTION
Our seven year old Fox hound/Lab mix is on Rymadol, Robaxin, Hydrochloride Glucocamine with Condrotend. He "thinks" that he can still run and play when on these medications. What is the safest exercise for him to compensate running and playing frisby. Also are there any other natural products for him to take to avoid further damage? He already has bad bone spurs on the centre of his spine. I'm trying to avoid more damage long term.

ANSWER
Dear Nancy-Lynn,
Gentle steady lead exercise is ideal for dogs with osteoarthritis. Frisbee type games will make arthritic joints wear out more quickly.
