A CHRISTMAS tree has magically appeared at the door of a fundraising team thanks to two joy-spreading fairies.
Marks and Spencer’s Two Fairies - a twitter-based fairy duo who go around the country delivering random acts of kindness – have targeted fundraisers at the Friarage Hospital’s MRI Scanner Appeal.
The campaign involves Christmas gifts and surprises turning up at people’s doors from fairies Magic and Sparkle.
The fundraising team were nominated by staff at Marks & Spencer in Northallerton, who have chosen the local hospital’s MRI Scanner Appeal as their charity this year.
The stunning 6ft tree came with a calling card attached to the tree, which read: “For the past few days the nation has been taking to Twitter where they have been nominating people and causes deserving a festive lift.
“So, Friarage MRI Scanner Appeal, that’s why we have brought this tree as a gift.”
Others who have received a Christmas ‘Tree-t’ from Magic and Sparkle include St Bartholomew's Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Society and a family from Bedfordshire who were the victims of a nasty burglary last Christmas.
Since November, @TheTwoFairies have been delivering magical acts of kindness around the country. The first recipients were based at Landewednack Primary in Cornwall where snow has not fallen in more than 25 years. The children were amazed to find the school mysteriously covered in a fresh fall of snow overnight.
Community fundraiser Suzie Campbell said they had been nominated by She said: “It was a genuine surprise. It’s a beautiful tree and has come with lights and decorations.”
The scanner appeal is just over the halfway mark, having raised more than £1m and has until December 31, 2015 to raise the rest.
